Botanicals for Cognitive Support
There are limited effective pharmaceutical options for cognitive health – especially for overall support and in situations of early changes. While the scientific and clinical research of natural products for cognitive health is limited, there is a rich historical context of using herbs for memory support. Botanicals may affect progression of cognitive changes through cerebral activation, increased cerebral blood flow, anti-oxidation and anti-inflammation.
The following herbs will be discussed: Ginkgo biloba (ginkgo), Eleutherococcus senticosus (Siberian ginseng), Rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary), Centella asiatica (Gotu kola) and Hericium erinaceus (Lion’s Mane mushroom).
