Herbal Strategies in Addressing Mental Health in Women
Some of the chemistry involved in mental health can lead us directly to a better understanding of the role of botanicals in treating mild, moderate and severe forms, which are more prevalent in women. Premenstrual and perimenopause mental health issues can also be helped by herbal medicine. Scientific evidence, central nervous system mechanisms and historical and anecdotal use will be highlighted for St. John’s wort, rhodiola, lemon balm, ginkgo, black cohosh and curcumin.
